At yesterday’s campsite we didn’t have internet connection, so here’s yesterday’s blog:
Today started off really late – after problems with paying at the campsite (no cash with us and no pin machine, oops) we finally left at 9.30. Luckily we had a tail wind for the first time of the tour! A tail wind plus fantasticly smooth paths into Tilburg meant we were one third into our journey at 11am, just in time for coffee.
We had done some washing the day before, but it wasn’t completly dry when we woke up. To dry it we attached it to the bikes and it dried perfectly 🙂
Most of the ride today was lovely – after yesterday cycling through Belgium and not enjoying it, we decided to change todays route as a lot of it would also take us through Belgium. This was a really good plan, we now cycled on lovely smooth paths most of the way with beautiful landscapes on each side.
One of the sign posts was facing the wrong way, which meant we took a 5km detour. Luckily we realised quite quickly that we were going the wrong way and turned around. The way we were supposed to go wasn’t great, it took us all through the forest on bumpy sandy paths, but we made it!
Finally after cycling through a very small piece of Belgium along very bumpy paths we reached the campsite at 17.45. Today’s cycle was 107km in total!
